University professor Harry (Freeman) dispenses wisdom at his friend Bradley's (Kinnear) coffee shop. And Bradley sure needs it: his wife Kathryn (Blair) has left him for another woman, and his new girlfriend Diana (Mitchell) is still sleeping with her married lover. Meanwhile, Harry also contemplates the love affair between Bradley's teenage employees Chloe (Davalos) and Oscar (Hemingway). As the narrator of these stories of love and loss, Harry doesn't seem to have any problems at all. Hmm. A strange movie that tries to be profound but is largely weightless.
