Simple story, cool soundtrack. A nameless guy (singer-songwriter Hansard) works at his dad's vacuum repair shop and busks on the Dublin streets, still hoping to make his musical dreams come true. He meets a young Czech immigrant (Irglova), also a musician-songwriter, who wants them to team up. There's a hint of romance but it's the music that really draws them together.

I'd heard good things about this film a long time before it won an Academy Award for best song. The simple story is intertwined with lovely tunes. You may want the captioning on to help decipher the Irish accents.
