MacBeth as gangster tale? Interesting idea but it loses much in translation. Director Wright moves the action to modern day Melbourne, where MacBeth (Worthington) whacks his boss Duncan (Sweet), as well as anyone he thinks is a threat. Lacking in subtlety, too dark, too gloomy, too stylish, and occasionally too campy for its own good. But other than that, it's fine. Weak rip-off of better gangster movies with a slightly more ambitious pedigree.
