Waitress

Sweet as, well, pie. Waitress Jenna (the radiantly appealing Russell) is a pie-baking phenom in her southern community. She's also fixing to leave her abusive jerk husband Earl (Sisto) when she discovers she's pregnant. Jenna looks for support from her diner co-workers while baking up outrageous concoctions ("I Hate My Husband Pie") that reflect her changing moods. She also decides to have a fling with her sweetly flustered OB-GYN (Fillion), and from there, the tale is uneven but cute nonetheless. Writer/director/actress Shelly (who plays Dawn) was murdered in November 2006 just after completing the film.
