Jeffrey (Heder) is a 29-year-old slacker who's happy living with his mom Jan (Keaton). But his free ride is threatened when mom announces she's marrying her boyfriend Mert (Daniels). So Jeffrey enlists aspiring singer Nora (Faris) to help him dislodge Mert from his mom's life and--horrors!--grows up in the process. Heder's indifferent portrayal of his irredeemably shelfish character is only the most obvious of many problems with this unfunny mess. Watch it with "Step Brothers" and weep for the future--and the present.
Not great but entertaining littlesam1 at 2008-10-22 01:01:21
Mama's Boy is not a great film. But I always like Jon Heder for some reason. Plus this has the always wonderful Diane Keaton who is really much better than this movie calls for. Its mildly entertaining and an easy way to spend a rainy afternoon.
