Knocked Up

Alison Scott (Heigl) is an ambitious blonde entertainment show producer who celebrates her promotion by getting drunk. This makes teddy-bearish chronic slacker Ben (Rogen) look appealing and they hook up--much to his amazement. And hers, when she winds up pregnant. Ben's initially horrified when she decides to have the baby and expects some type of commitment from him. They bond cute, although the situation remains uncertain, with Ben's equally clueless stoner buds and Alison's control-freak married sister Debbie (Mann) offering opinions and running commentary. Apatow has an ear for just the right line and pop-culture reference and knows how to cast his flicks to have quirky appeal.
