Disturbia

Unacknowledged updated teen version of "Rear Window." Troubled Kale (LaBeouf) is placed on house arrest with an electronic ankle monitor after a school incident. His fed-up mom (Moss) cuts off his videogame/cable access, so Kale begins spying on the locals with his handy binoculars. At first he's mostly interested in hottie girl next door, Ashley (Roemer), but then Kale becomes suspicious of neighbor Mr. Turner (Morse) and whether he could actually be the serial killer from local news reports. Kale recruits Ashley and pal Ronnie (Yoo) to be his legs even though they question his accusations. Morse is effectively creepy in what amounts to the Raymond Burr role and LeBeouf makes the most of Kale's foolishness and smart-aleck wit.
