Crime thriller with a stellar performance by Gordon-Levitt as former golden boy jock Chris. After a car accident that left him with severe brain trauma, Chris struggles with emotional outbursts, memory gaps, and everyday tasks. He lives with sardonic blind roommate Lewis (Daniels, offering superb support) in a small Kansas town and works as a janitor at the bank, giving Chris the perfect in when con man/criminal Gary (Goode) shows up to entice him into a heist to restore some self-esteem. Gary dangles luscious Luvlee (Fisher) as a prize but Chris isn't as dumb as everyone supposes. Screenwriter Frank uses his knowledge of neo-noir territory in his directorial debut.
