Catch and Release

Kevin Smith is cuddly. But fortunately, he's not the rebound romance for the ever-appealing Garner because that would really make heads spin. Garner plays Gray, a one-of-the-guys kinda gal whose fiance Grady died before the wedding. Crushed, Gray (who seems to have no family or girlfriends) becomes roomies with his buds Sam (Smith) and Dennis (Jaeger), who was also Grady's partner in a fly-fishing venture. Frisky Fritz (Olyphant), will eventually console Gray, who finds out some secrets about Grady that involve a ditzy single mom, played too weirdly by Lewis. Grant's directorial debut veers uncertainly between tragedy and comedy.
