Montgomery may not be as curvy as the real Marilyn Monroe, but she does well in this routine biopic about the bombshell who suffered from life-long problems with self-esteem and men. Based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates, the miniseries covers Marilyn from her disturbing childhood/teenage Norma Jean Baker years to her transformation into a screen goddess, although it ends before her death.
