Charlotte's Web

Faithful to E.B. White's timeless 1952 children's novel about a young girl, Fern (played graciously by Fanning, just barely young enough for the role), who rescues runt pig Wilbur from the smokehouse. Wilbur is later aided by Charlotte, a sophisticated spider (Roberts) whose "some pig" artwork awes the masses. Though the animals' mouths move thanks to CG effects, the animals and action are the real deal, as are the appealing gaggle of celebrities. Sticks to the book's gentle nature, but things get a bit sluggish at times.
