Minimalist flick that focuses on a nameless big-time actor (Freeman) venturing into method territory. He travels outside LA in order to spend time at a local downscale grocery store to study how his store-manager character would behave, but instead observes all-business checkout clerk Scarlet (Vega) at work. When he's left stranded, Scarlet agrees to drive him home and he offers to help her prepare for a secretarial job interview the way he would prep for an audition. You can't deny the warmth of either Freeman or Vega but even for an indie this is slight material.
