Black Christmas

The 1974 original was an early entry in the slasher/dead teen genre. This weak remake, which takes itself way too seriously, ups the gore and adds lurid flashbacks for the killer, but so what? Sorority sisters (you may recognize a couple of faces) are stuck in their Alpha Kappa house at Christmas because of a blizzard, but the psycho killer (who lived in the sorority house when it was his family home) manages to escape the loony bin and hide out in the attic. He then terrorizes the gals before offing them, using handy holiday decorations for the most part. After seeing what he does with a cookie cutter, you may never eat Christmas cookies again. Writer/director Morgan deserves coal in his stocking.

Ugh.

Don't waste your time watching this stupid, piece-of-trash remake. The movie completely takes away the mysteriousness of the killer, giving the audience a detailed background and history of him. The intended audience, of course, will no doubt be a group of stereotypical stupid teens. God forbid anyone use their imagination while watching a movie these days.
