Live-action adaptation of the 1000-year-old Scandanavian poem retells the story of Beowulf (Butler), the Norse warrior who helps his pal, Danish King Hrothgar (Skarsgard), rid his land of the murderous troll Grendel (Sigurdsson). Tries to appeal to modern audiences with flashy fighting, lots of blood, and awkward comedic attempts, but succeeds only in showing how beautiful Iceland is (that's where it was filmed).
