In a sort of mini-"Hoop Dreams," director Hock engagingly follows 18-year-old basketball player Sebastian Telfair during his senior year at Coney Island's Lincoln High School. A surprisingly level-headed Telfair debates whether to play college ball or risk jumping into the uncertainties of the NBA draft as his brother unsuccessfully did a few years before. But his path becomes clear when violence erupts at his family's projects and their chance to escape rests on him.
