Writer/director/actor Kevin Smith revisits the New Jersey suburban landscape that put him and his recurring characters on the map 12 years ago. Little has changed in the lives or ambitions of clerks Dante (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anerson)--they still pass the time with Smith's signature debates and diatribes on such topics as beastiality, "The Man," and the virtues of "Star Wars" vs. "Lord of the Rings"--while harassing the occasional, unfortunate customer. The same semi-professional, low-budget charm of its predecessor makes for a strong follow-up. Simply put, if you liked "Clerks," you'll like "Clerks II"; if you were offended by the first, you'll be horrified by this one.
