Jarmusch's self-indulgent, repetitious travelogue features a nameless, emotionless man (De Bankole) who is met at the airport and given some cryptic instructions before he settles in a Madrid hotel room. One set of instructions leads to various cafe meetings with a bunch of eccentric characters. They exchange matchboxes with more cryptic instructions as the nameless man makes his way across Spain. Title refers to a 1975 William Burroughs essay that inspired the director. You probably won't be inspired although the scenery is nice.
