Burt Munro (a refreshingly un-scary Hopkins) is the town "crazy old guy," a kooky New Zealander with a dream of setting a land-speed motorcycle record at Bonneville Flats, Utah. The Indian in the title is the bike, a 1920 Indian Scout, which, with Munro's constant tinkering, flies at a blistering 201 mph across the desert with Munro at its helm. A true story, told here by the same director of the 1971 documentary about Munro, "Offerings to the God of Speed." Mildly schmaltzy, but well-told and all heart.
