What happens when an old man on the brink of a divorce drops into his adult son's life? You get a vehicle for Peter Falk's patented crusty lovability. Sam Kleinman (Falk), after a lifetime spent buried in his work, is alone and unfulfilled after his wife Muriel (Dukakis) walks out. Son Ben (Reiser), a successful New York professional who is happily married to Rachel (Perkins), is considering a move to the country. Ben takes his father to inspect a property and the two are plunged into an adventure which includes a classic car, a billiard hall and a fishing trip, all of which serve as a framework for unraveling the meaning of life. Totally worth seeing Falk's magic.
