Niccol's look into the dark world of international weapons trade says guns are evil but its vivid imagery suggests something very different. Yuri Orlov (Cage), a Ukrainian immigrant living in Manhattan, would like to put a gun in the hand of every person on the planet. Aided in business by his brother Vitally (Leto) and pursued by Interpol agent Valentine (Hawke), Yuri slickly operates in his frightening underworld of bloody regional conflict. His fabulous life is fueled by profits extracted from the ever-growing stack of dead bodies. Cage's performance is at the center of a satisfying movie experience.
