Italian writer Oliviero (Pistilli) enjoys tormenting and belittling women, especially his wife. When one of his mistresses is brutally murdered, followed by similar crimes, he becomes a suspect. His behavior toward his wife worsens and is witnessed by his scheming niece and the family's cat. Satisfying giallo heavily influenced by Poe.
