Seven year documentary chronicle of two indie-rock bands, charting rise of one and downfall of the other. The Dandy Warhols, led by Courtney Taylor, seem to be blessed by the angels as they meteorically rise in the world of alterna-pop. Anton Newcombe and band, Brian Jonestown Massacre, who are great mentors to Taylor's own band, seem to have no one but Newcombe to blame for their lack of success. Belligerent and out-of-control, Newcombe amazingly crafts brilliant album after album, but scares bandmates, record companies and friends away. Truly sad up-close look at the difficulties of remaining uncompromising in the ruthless music business.
