Why does anyone bother releasing this tripe on the big screen when it barely qualifies for basic cable or direct-to-video? The gold diggers of the title are a couple of inept twenty-something con men (Friedle, Owen) who plot to marry two elderly sisters (Taylor, Lasser) who are supposed to be wealthy Beverly Hills heiresses. Only the gals (who are, of course, broke) have their own insurance scam in mind. Can't even be enjoyed as trash.
