Flick could have used a can of hair spray to give its limp premise some hold. Outgoing (i.e. loud) Peaches (Mo'Nique) works at a low-rent Baltimore hair salon while her successful sister Angie (Smith) has gone up-scale out in L.A. Owing a wad of cash to the IRS, Peaches heads for the west coast to visit her estranged sis and discovers that an annual competitive hairstyling pageant offers enough money to pay off her debt should she win. Angie thinks the event is beneath her but may just be jealous that rival salon owner Marcella (Torres) has won several years in a row. Peaches has no problem jumping into the action. It's all one giant cliche.
