Fahrenheit 9/11

Michael Moore's indictment of the Bush administration's handling of the Iraq War begins with the 2000 election and follows Bush up to and through the 9/11 attacks, pointing out lost opportunities to stop Bin Laden's plot. Continues through the War on Terrorism and the Iraq War. Party affiliation will determine viewer opinion, but Moore's poisoned pen letter of a documentary is effective and bracing. This is pure propaganda, but of the strongest kind. Moore uses every weapon in his arsenal to attack Bush and his cronies, with outtakes and bloopers by Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, and Bush especially juicy. Sobering, horrific footage of ongoing carnage in Iraq--the stuff they don't show on the nightly news--balances out some of the more outlandish buffoonery and lampooning. Viciously funny and gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking.
