Oh-so-assured sophisticated comedy finds gentleman jewel thief Gaston (Marshall) meeting his match in upscale pickpocket Lily (Hopkins). Even though they team up, their personal relationship doesn't get in the way of their professional ambitions. Gaston cons his way into the graces of wealthy widow Mariette Colet (Francis), who's well-aware she'd being used but is more amused than outraged. The same can't be said of her two devoted and dull suitors (Ruggles, Horton), who don't like the competition. And maybe Gaston is getting a little too interested in Mariette for even Lily's piece of mind. Both leading actresses are flirty and lovely and Marshall is suave and gallant. Because this is a pre-Production Code film, there's lots of sexual innuendo (both visual and verbal) and crime without punishment.
