Dillon makes his directorial debut (as well as starring and co-writing the screenplay) with this overly-ambitious effort. Jimmy Creemins (Dillon) works for a shady New York insurance agency. His boss (and Jimmy's mentor), Marvin (Caan), has cleaned out the firm's offshore accounts and the feds think Jimmy was in on the scam. Jimmy discovers Marvin is holed up in Phnom Penh and he heads to Cambodia to join him at the Belleville Hotel, the usual sort of seedy Euro-dive, which is run by Frenchman Emile (Depardieu). Soon Jimmy is caught up in further unsavory activities, with various unsavory characters, a damsel-in-distress (McElhone), and more sideline plots.
