Yes, in order to watch the film, you need the funny glasses. Despite that bit of amusing nostalgia, George Clooney as the President of the United States and Sylvester Stallone in four different roles, this third and latest addition to director Rodriguez's "Spy Kids" franchise still doesn't manage to make much of an impression. The evil villain Toymaker (Stallone) and his three quirky alter ego henchmen (also Stallone) make a dangerous virtual reality video game which traps returning adolescent super-spies Juni (Sabara) and Carmen (Vega) inside. So it's parents (Banderas, Gugino) and grandpa (Montalban) to the rescue. With a tired plot, lackluster pacing, unimaginative visuals, and wooden acting, even the plethora of high-profile cameos can't save this chapter from virtual obscurity.
