In the sequel to the 2001 surprise hit, Boston lawyer Elle Woods (Witherspoon) heads to D.C. and becomes the aide to congresswoman Rudd (Field) and takes up the cause of animal rights. Witherspoon's zest and charm are the only things to recommend about this mostly unfunny cliche-fest that traps some real talent in ridiculously cardboard roles. Other than Witherspoon, the only bright spots are Coolidge as Elle's manicurist friend, and the dog whose family provides the main plot push-start.
