L.A. dog walker Lucy (Morgan) begins to overly-identify with her clients when she stops speaking and begins barking and displaying other canine behavior. Her baffled husband Peter (Tergesen) consults Lucy's equally odd parents as well as a vet (Kudrow) and a shrink (D'Onofrio) and decides to have his wife committed. But when Lucy becomes catatonic in the hospital, Peter decides to take her home and learn to adapt. He's a lot more understanding than the viewer will be.
