Disappointing fluff bunny blonde role for Jolie, who's best when she's edgy. Instead, she plays shallow Seattle newscaster Lanie Kerigan who has a fab life and a fab famous boyfriend in Seattle Mariners player Cal (Kane). Then she interviews street prophet Jack (Shalhoub), who tells Lanie that she's going to die next week--and since all his other predictions have come true, Lanie gets stressed and decides she needs to get in touch with her regular-gal roots again. Of course it doesn't hurt that her cameraman, sexy Pete (Burns), is willing to do all he can to make things better.
