Back in the 1980s, director Tsui Hark made a neat little fantasy film called "Zu: Warriors of the Magic Mountain." In the 1990s he decided to update it, and did a cgi remake called "Legend of Zu." Eventually Miramax got the U.S. release rights to it and decided to rename it as "Zu Warriors" (which the original film is also called, causing some confusion), cutting 20 minutes of time from the length and dubbing and re-editing the chopped-up remainder. The result is an incomprehensible mess that was universally panned, which is why it didn't get a theatrical release like the other properties Miramax acquired.
