This disjointed patchwork of lame comedy routines tries to masquerade as "family friendly" entertainment, but is revealed to be a mess that kids may tolerate and parents will hate. Pistachio Disguisey (Carvey) is a waiter at his father Fabbrizio's (Brolin) restaurant, where he displays a talent for mimicking all the customers. Turns out this is a family legacy, coveted by flatulent criminal Devlin Bowman (Spiner) who kidnaps Fabbrizio. So Pistachio has to get his act together, rescue dad, and defeat Devlin. There is no saving the movie, however. Running time is actually padded with 15 minutes of credits and outtakes.
Dana Carvey...What happened? KHL at 2008-03-10 16:03:08
There was a time when Dana Carvey could make people laugh, but this sad, sad excuse for a comedy is the proverbial stake in the heart of his career. Quite possibly no movie, except Joe Dirt, is so terribly unfunny. Better to go watch reruns of old SNL than attempt to get through this mess.
