In 1911, David Bruce (Whately) has just moved to London with his wife (Manville) and baby daughter. Newly prosperous, the family can afford to hire live-in maid, Jane (Cunniffe). But David begins to take too much of an interest in Jane (and doesn't realize that his grown son is also involved with her) and sexual obsession leads to murder.
