The Ghost of Spoon River
Chicago lawyer Emma Masters (Sinclair) heads home to defend her brother-in-law Jesse (McNamara) who's been accused of killing the local game warden. A killing that seems racially motivated and seems to tie into the town's dark past and a 1941 lynching. And despite the title, this standard thriller has really nothing to do with Edgar Lee Masters' "Spoon River Anthology."
