In this visually stunning sequel to the 1996 film, Ethan Hunt tracks a rogue IMF agent Ambrose (Scott), who threatens to release deadly virus on Sydney, Australia and corner the market on the cure. Ambrose's ex-girlfriend Nyah (Newton), a jewel theif, is recruited by Hunt to spy on Ambrose from inside. Of course Nyah and Hunt fall in love (the weakest element of the movie, by the way). Director Woo brings his trademark balletic style to the action, although it seems to take a while to actually get to it. The stunts and fights, while completely preposterous, are beautifully done. The plot is a lot less convoluted than the first 'Mission,' which is either good or bad, depending on how you feel about the original.
