Directorial debut from former casting director Garcia follows the adventures of various self-absorbed hipsters on New Year's Eve in early '80s New York. The excellent ensemble cast is given spotty material, however. The primary goal of all these rather unlikable characters is to find someone (or anyone) to sleep with before the night is over. They all hook up in this ode to the high life of pre-AIDS promiscuity, but you don't really care about them at all. Chapelle provides the most entertainment as a philosophy-spouting disco cabbie who schleps the shallow partygoers to and fro.
