Title says it all in this drama based on the true story of publishing heiress Anne Scripps Douglas (Hart) who, in 1989, marries volatile young carpenter, Scott (Wilder), and begins an abusive four-year marriage that will end with her beating death in 1993. Scripps Douglas's two daughters by her first marriage, Alexandra and Annie (portrayed on screen by Clarke and Combs), cooperated with the production.
