Con man Frank Bannister (Fox) has a unique scam--he works with a group of ghosts who haunt a home until Frank comes along to drive them out, for the right price. But the small town of Fairwater is plagued by a serial killer's evil spirit and Frank and his spiritual cronies face the challenge of getting rid of the ghost before the police decide to get rid of Frank. Interesting horror-comedy takes a lot of twists and turns to get where its going, but the payoff in gore and humor is worth it for fans of the genre. New Zealand helmer Jackson makes his American directorial debut.

This film deserves better. I enjoyed the thrill of the scares but I also loved the jokes and gags that went with it. The plot was intriguing and overall the movie was very entertaining. Fox was perfect to lead and did more than just charm us with his looks, he actually ACTED. I'm certain critics who panned this movie are just people who prefer overrated movies like Titanic. I bet it's jealousy of the brilliant special effects and acting that brought it to life.

I love how this movie lures you in with a goofy Ghostbusters vibe and then slowly, but surely transforms into a hardcore supernatural thriller. Fox makes a tremendous lead and carries the movie on his back. Not perfect, but a cool, cool movie, nonetheless.
