Excellent TV adaptation of the Dickens Christmas classic features a memorable Scott as miserly misanthrope Ebenezer Scrooge, who gets a scary look at his life thanks to a Christmas Eve visit from the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Terrific supporting cast; filmed on location in Shrewsbury, England.
This is the version of A Christmas Carol that all others should be compaired to. With the exception of "Scrooged" I have not watched any of the 7 versions of this movie more. It's not Christmas in my house untill you hear George C. Scott scream "Mister Cratchet"
