My Neighbor Totoro
Rather gooey Japanese animated movie about Satsuki and her younger sister Lucy, whose new house in the country is filled with magic, including a friendly creature named Totoro. Totoro is a cuddly, if weird, mix of bear, owl, and seal, with whiskers and a gentle roar. He can fly, has a magic bus, and can only be seen by children. Naturally, every time the two girls get into mischief Totoro is there to rescue them. Dubbed into English.

If Miyazaki is not a national treasure, he ought to be a global treasure. His hand drawn animation is a delight for all ages as well as the story lines. Well worth a place in anyone's collection.
