Bland actioner can't decide whether it's a remake of the original or a sequel; it pretends to be a sequel yet spends a lot of time retelling--poorly--the first great escape. Once it gets around to the sequel part, it dispenses with protocol: Pleasence, an escapee in the original, is a Nazi bad guy in this go-round. Poor casting, especially Reeves, unconvincing as a German-speaking British officer who rallies the surviving escapees in revenge against their WWII captors. TV movie was originally shown in two parts, but mercifully shortened for video.
