Korean War

Civil war from 1950-53, between the North (communist) regime and the South (Republic), which had been divided in 1948. South Korea was supported by U.N. command forces, consisting primarily of U.S. troops. North Korea was supported by China, and to a lesser extent, the Soviet Union.
