Good God, y'all, what is it good for? Some damn fine movies, if they're done right. These tales of conflict use the backdrop of military campaigns…ranging from ancient to recent…for a variety of thematic purposes. Some seek to show the heroism of our fighting men and women, while others take a more nihilistic approval, portraying war as mankind's ultimate evil. Regardless of why they cry havoc, most war movies feature bombastic action sequences, male bonding, and uncomfortable amounts of putting your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face.
