Films made in countries other than the good ol' US of A. Quite often more risk-taking and experimental than domestic flicks (and, as a result, decidedly less commercial). Many end up as the fodder for watered-down remakes with big Hollywood names in the lead, while others stink as bad as American movies, but you're forced to read 'em to know what's going on.
