Seances, ghostly knockings, objects appearing out of nowhere, musical instruments playing by themselves, automatic writing, and EVP (electronic voice phenomenon), all this and more can be found in The Changeling! This movie scared, and still scares, the heck of of me, since I saw it as a kid. Lonely widower, played effectively by Scott, rents gigantic old mansion, with a sinister and troubling past. When he attempts to establish the true history of the death of a young boy, he gets more than he bargained for.
Slow paced psychological horror at its best (no gore, no shockfest, so don't expect it).
