Go see the director's cut--it's 45 minutes longer, and makes for a much more satsifying movie. It's grand, epic, and contains more plot and character development than the dumbed-down theatrical cut.
When I see that a movie is "based on the video game," I keep my expectations low. That way, I am only mildly disappointed ('Super Mario Bros.', anyone?), or else I am actually pleasantly surprised. (I'm sure I'm in the minority in that I really enjoy the 'Tomb Raider' movies.) For me, 'Hitman' fell into the latter category. I know nothing about 'Hitman' the game, but I thought that Tim Olyphant was well-cast in the lead role. (Vin Diesel would have ruined this movie.) Olga Kurylenko was a pleasant surprise. All in all, a decent action flick. I rate it a solid Three Bones.
