Forrest Gump rip-off (had the same screen writer!). depressing and criminally over-long. Pitt is as annoying as HELL.

Wonderfully entertaining

Not as bold as 'Inception' or as relevant as 'The Social Network," but just as worthy in its own way. Propelled by endearing performances and an interesting true-life story, this is among the most enjoyable films of 2010.

Being a HUGE fan of harry potter myself I have been looking forward to the double movie finale for a long time. I went to see this film on the day it came out and I was very excited. I was desperately hoping it would be equally as good as the others, and luckily it completely succeeded with no doubt. I'm going to keep this short but all in all I love this film and I can't wait for the next instalment.

Movie Critical: New Moon Review
Reviewed by nyp09 for The Twilight Saga: New Moon at 2009-11-22 07:43:33
In My Own Words Here it is, the awaited follow up to ?Twilight?. Well, it will not have been awaited if you are not a Twilight fan and the first thing I will say about this movie before I tell you my own thoughts and my experience with this movie is that this movie is NOT for you if you are not a fan of Twilight. My boyfriend who followed me along for the special midnight screening gave it a 2/10, he was not impressed. I, myself, have tried not to become part of the ?Twilight? phenomenon, but I have been drawn in, more by the books than the movies though. I did enjoy ?Twilight? when that came out at the cinemas last year, I thought it was enjoyable. Sure it wasn?t the best movie ever made and does not rival ?Gone With The Wind?, but it was fun to watch nevertheless. My boyfriend bought tickets for me for the midnight screening at my local cinema as I wanted to review it before the majority of the world. Also I had never been to a midnight screening of anything so it was very exciting! Although I did go to the 9am first screening of ?The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King? when that opened, but this was a bit more exciting at night for some strange reason. I was shocked, I have never seen my local cinemas so packed. They had six cinemas all sold out, all by people (mostly girls) under the age of 25. It can be hard to take a movie seriously when you have some groups of girls showing off to their friends by laughing at parts in the movie which aren?t even funny and are supposed to be serious. That was something that I was prepared for though. So, as far as the film went, not as good as the original ?Twilight?. Nowhere near as cheesily enjoyable as it was. And I repeat, stay away from this movie if you do not like ?Twilight? at all, it won?t change you mind. However, if you are a ?Twilight? fan, it is still worth seeing and you may find some happiness and enjoyment seeing Edward, Bella and Jacob on the big screen again. These are my own words and this is my review. Review There is no escaping the ?Twilight? phenomenon, especially leading up to the release of ?New Moon?, the second installment of the saga. The film, whether it is good or not, will make millions worldwide in the box office from fans going to watch it numerous times. However, movie goers who go to watch the film who either did not like the first film or didn?t see it, will be completely dissatisfied and confused. The movie makes no sense without the first film and will not appeal to those who are not fans of

A Delicious Treat of a Movie
Reviewed by criddic2 for Julie & Julia at 2009-08-24 01:21:56
Meryl Streep is just a joy as Julia Child, in one of her most graceful performances. Amy Adams is solid as Julie Powell, who decides to write a blog about cooking every recipe in Child's cookbook. Eat something before you enter the theater, or you'll be hungrier afterwards. The dishes shown might make even the VideoHound drool.

Julia is rolling over in her grave
Reviewed by GoldenBuddy for Julie & Julia at 2009-08-17 21:10:57
Nothing like taking one of America's gems and turning her into a cartoon character. I know we laughed when Dan Akroyd poked fun of Julia on SNL - but this woman was more than that. The story idea of paralleling two women seemed brilliant but then the dialogue and the directing just succumbed to banality. And then there was Meryl Streep -- professional movie reviewers loved her performance. I didn't. I was so offended by her portrayal plus the lack of meat in the story. This is no way to remember Julia Child -- this movie is an injustice to a brilliant mind and a wonderful woman. Nora Efron should be ashamed that she is profiting off of this woman's life.

Christian's Need Not Fear This Movie!
Reviewed by SwineHerder for The Golden Compass at 2008-06-11 17:12:36
As a self described and practicing bible thumping Christian - I can see where folks of my ilk would be uncomfortable with this movie. Having not read the books (yet), I wasn't sure if the Magisterium represented the church or the government. I loved it! The underlying theme was very much in favor of science, but so what? Chill Out and enjoy the movie for it's entertainment value. We need not fear it! Can't wait for the next installment and I"m going to read the book.
