Frances Langford scores a direct hit in this romantic WWII musical comedy/drama. The gorgeous Miss Langford sings her way across the screen delivering a moving portrait of a young woman in love. The songs are first rate as are her insightful interpretations. Russell Wade gives his finest screen performance as the fly boy Capt. Pat Ransom but is he acting? One wouldn't blame him if he really was in love with the beautiful Bamboo Blond. A great supporting cast headed by the zany Iris Adrian and Ralph Edwards keep the story rolling. Anthony Mann's spirited direction makes the Bamboo Blond delightful viewing. Not to be missed!
