One of my Favorites

I love this movie! The book went into a lot of description along the way - but seemed to drag for me. The movie summed up the struggle that each character faces, while making you ache for them to be together. This is my favorite role for Renee Zellweger.

Watch this movie for the dance scene if for no other reason. It has the best dance scene next to a John Travolta disco that I've ever enjoyed. Dancing With the Stars!!! very romantic

Stylish and Well-acted

Matt Damon gives an eerily effective performance as a man who uses other people's identities as his own in this chilling psychological thriller by the late Anthony Minghella.

Brilliantly acted and deeply moving

Doubt is this year's most well-acted drama. The plot revolves around a small Catholic school in the city where a seemingly friendly priest named Father Flynn is accused of molesting a young African-American boy. Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep) is on his case immediately while Sister James, (Amy Adams) another nun sides with the priest. The verdict is decided by the audience. All three actors deliver what they're best at: top notch acting. Also with an engaging, fascinating plot Doubt deserved its Oscar nominees one hundred percent

The Low Road

The director of "The Pawnbroker," "The Hill" and "The Verdict" is capable of much better than this. While technically impressive (if a bit obvious), it takes us close to a group of unrelentingly contemptible mediocrities without any suggestion of why. Neither pathological study nor morality play, it simply dwells on the lowness of life and drags us down with it.

DUDE

They don't come much funnier. If you're a Baby Boomer, this is not to be missed. If you're not, you can laugh at their (our) expense. Jeff Bridges is great, but John Goodman's performance is out there in a category with the geniuses of modern off-beat comedy.

Excellent anti-hero comedy about a deadbeat beer-league bowler pothead trying to find a kidnapped nympho trophy wife and his stolen rug--in the parlance of our times.
